Apple is trying to resolve a concerning iPhone alarming issue.

Apple has acknowledged an urgent need to resolve an issue where some iPhone alarms fail to sound, leaving users unexpectedly sleeping in.

Many individuals rely on their phones as indispensable alarm clocks, and frustrated oversleepers took to social media platforms to express their discontent.

One TikTok user lamented setting "like five alarms" only to find none of them went off.

While Apple has confirmed awareness of the issue, details on its cause and potential solutions remain undisclosed. The scope of affected users and whether specific iPhone models are impacted remain unclear.

Initial concerns were voiced by early risers on NBC's Today Show, which first reported on the issue.

In the absence of an official fix, individuals experiencing sleep disruptions can try a few basic troubleshooting steps. These include verifying alarm settings and ensuring the device's volume is appropriately adjusted.

Some have speculated that Apple's "attention aware features" could be contributing to the problem. These features, available on iPhone X and later models, as well as certain iPad Pro models, automatically adjust alert volumes based on user attention. If activated, these features may lower alarm volume if the device detects the user is not actively engaged with it.

Several TikTok users suggested that a sleeping user's face directed towards the iPhone screen might inadvertently trigger these features, leading to alarm silencing.

Apple has expressed its commitment to swiftly addressing the issue. In the meantime, users across different time zones may need to resort to traditional alarm clocks until a resolution is implemented.
